Approaches to the Immigration of (Highly) Qualified Third-Country Nationals
The IOM (International Organization for Migration) Country Office Vienna as National Contact Point Austria in the European Migration Network (EMN) organises on 12th June 2013 its national conference at the Haus Albert Schweitzer. The aim of the conference is to analyse various policies and different perspectives (countries of origin and destination, private sector, etc.) and to exchange experiences of EU and non-EU countries. The first EMN study 2013 on “Attracting Highly Qualified and Qualified Third-Country Nationals” provides the research background for the event. A panel discussion of distinguished experts reflecting on the future perspectives of immigration of (highly) qualified third country nationals to Austria will conclude the conference. Alfonso Giordano, ECIA Managing Director will describe the perspective of the country of origin of (highly) qualified migration, with a particular focus on India. His speech will primarily deal with the topics of ‘Brain Drain‘ and ‘Brain Gain’.
