ECIA Fellow Cristina Flesher Fominaya delivered a talk in Istanbul on “Humour In Protest and Cultural Resistance” at the workshop on “Alternative Ways of Participation” organized by Şebeke: Gençlerin Katılımı Projesi/ “Network: Participation of the Young People project. Şebeke is organized by the Istanbul Bilgi University NGO Training and Research Center and is funded by the European Union. The Network project aims to empower civil society organizations (CSO) and young citizens for a stronger participation in public debate, decision making and policy making processes. The workshop addressed mechanisms and methodologies created or developed by young citizens as an alternative way of participation to conventional political participation mechanisms, bringing together Turkish and international scholars working on a range of areas of expertise.
