The Role of Development Agencies in Preventing Mass Atrocities
9 April 2014 at World Bank, Washington DC
Enzo Maria Le Fevre Cervini, ECIA Fellow, will moderate the session on “The Role of Development Agencies in Preventing Mass Atrocities” at the Global Forum on Law, Justice and Development. This session at the IMF-WB Civil Society Forum by gathering together key players in the donor community, aims to discuss how donors, including aid agencies, can better contribute to mass atrocities prevention or respond when prevention fails. The discussion will focus on possible ways to foster cooperation among stakeholders, with the ultimate objective of strengthening the second pillar of the Responsibility to Protect by providing assistance to states to protect their populations from genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
